Dear Friend,

Since its inception in year 1986, Chabad  Lubavitch of El Paso has been dedicated to serving and educating the Jewish community, helping it identify more proudly with our glorious heritage.  Our trailblazing programs have sparked a sense of direction for many regardless of their affiliation.

Our 3,000-square-foot building has long since been outgrown.  The many activities, programs and institutions we host on the same property-our shul, the Gan Menachem preschool, our Shabbos children's program , Camp Gan Israel summer camp, and, of course, our Chanukah, Pesach, and youth activities-have necessitated the addition of a larger, more efficient facility.

All of the above make it nearly impossible for each individual activity to function in a respectable and comfortable way.

Therefore, we at Chabad have a new dream-to add to our facilities a bigger and better edifice; a building sponsored by the community for the community to accommodate all our programs and more.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe teaches us that when one builds, one should be prepared to expand from the onset.

My friends, we are now ready to expand.  We have reached that stage where, due to our communal success, we must continue to grow.  Our second building will function with the same purpose of our present home-to serve the Jewish community and to continue in our mission of Jewish continuity.

Our future plans for this second edifice will be to provide quality, spacious housing for the Gan Menachem preschool, a state-of-the-art children's library and computer room for our youth, guest quarters for hosting travelers and visitors on Shabbos and other occasions, a multipurpose community activity room, and facilities for our summer camps as well as for our teaching staff.

Of particular note will be the Jewish Expo Room-a unique mini-museum where Judaism springs to vivid, three-dimensional life.  Here, children and visitors of all ages will view exhibits and dioramas of Moses, the Splitting of the Red Sea, the Holy Temple and much more.  The Jewish Expo Room will make Judaism real.

These and many other programs, all of which Chabad has initiated, are here to serve you.  At the same time, we realize that much more can and should be done.  We have no intention of laying back and taking it easy - the amount of work laying ahead is tremendous.

Won't you be a friend?

We need your help and participation.  At this time, we ask you to join Friends of Lubavitch's Million Dollar March-our new campaign to raise the necessary funds for our additional facility.  Become a Distinguished Partner by demonstrating your true commitment to the Million Dollar March.  Become a Friend of Lubavitch, and take pride in being a partner in our work-teaching our people our great Jewish heritage.

Every Jew needs a name; every Jew needs a home. With the help of the A-mighty and the efforts of our friends we will grow together.  We will forge onward to create a multi-faceted center that will facilitate and enable us to continue our vast array of programs in comfort, beauty and spaciousness.

Whether it be the Camp Gan Israel summer camp, the Chabad synagogue, the Teen Club or our administrative offices, we will now have the facilities to complement all of the above, helping to promote Jewish growth to yet greater pinnacles of achievement.  Please join us, and help make a difference.

With warmest personal regards, I remain,

Sincerely yours,

Rabbi Yisrael Greenberg
